The Abstractionist

So yesterday I retrieved my notes from Bard about Ashbery's reading and I set out to write a poem about him, part a jest and part a gesture of homage. Then, as I was playing around, I stumbled on some websites--I'd googled Asbery and "instruction manual" and I found a great poem by Ashbery about a philosopher and it was far less obscure or abstract. So I wrote up a poem and I'll have to draft it out a few times but it possesses some of the energy I was seeking, the wordplay, and the exaggeration.
